Bambos Charalambous is the Labour MP for Enfield Southgate, having first been elected to Parliament in 2017.
Charalambous was appointed to the Shadow Foreign Affairs team in December 2021. he previously served as the shadow Minister for Crime reduction and Courts and as an Opposition Whip.
He supported Keir Starmer in the 2020 Labour leadership election, despite previously having served as the Parliamentary Private Secretary, to Starmer’s then rival in the contest, Rebecca Long Bailey.
He graduated from Liverpool John Moores University – law. He worked as a solicitor before being elected to Parliament, and was a housing lawyer for Hackney Council.
Elected to Enfield Council between 2014 and 2018, Charalambous is said to be the first Member of Parliament of full Cypriot descent. He is Vice Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Cyprus.
He is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on Alevis, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, Breast Cancer, and Equipment for Disabled Children, Future Generations, and Thalassemia.
